The Whites Survival Dry
In Canada Immersion suits have made headlines. Canada currently has higher standards for meeting government guidelines than any other country in the world. If you read the news headlines however, many people agree that the standards are still not high enough. Here at Whites Manufacturing we pride ourselves in producing top notch equipment that we would gladly equip our own family with.
Did you know:
- To meet the standards for having an immersion suit that is Transport Canada approved it does not need to be dry!
- When they test the suits and measure how much water enters the suit it is done in a swimming pool with calm water!
- As little as 2 cups of water in an immersion suit will decrease the insulation value of the suit by 30%!
- Wind and waves alone decrease the insulation value of a suit by 30%!
- Staying alive for 6 hours after a vessel sinks will largely depend on how dry you stay.
- A study was conducted for Transport Canada in realistic conditions (not in a swimming pool) that tested popular immersion suits on the market in 2009.
- The Whites survival dry was the only suit that stayed dry and met the current standards. Other suits took on as much as 16lbs of water!
- Countless people have died in just 2-3 hours in flooded immersion suits that they assumed would stay dry and save their lives.

CAPTIVE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Whites patented Captive Suspension System is our unique innovation, to create a smooth, snug fit while incorporating an unprecedented amount of flex and mobility. Employing a snug, stretchy outer layer of Air8 material, our process encapsulates generous high stretch/high flex zones to keep the suit snug and in place on your body. The result is increased comfort and expandability with greatly reduced drag and a more natural, trim fit.
